谢亿民个人介绍

谢亿民,江苏常州人,澳大利亚工程院院士。毕业于上海交通大学工程力学系,并在英国获得博士学位。他从2002年至2012年担任澳大利亚皇家墨尔本理工大学土木工程系终身教授和系主任。由于谢亿民院士在高等教育及土木工程领域作出的重要贡献,他于2019年6月被授予澳大利亚国家勋章(Member of the order of Australia)。同年9月,他被澳大利亚科研基金委授予澳洲学术界至高无上的荣誉—澳大利亚桂冠教授(Australian Research Council Laureate Fellowship)。                                                                                               谢亿民于2011年当选澳大利亚工程院院士。2017年,谢亿民院士荣获澳大利亚工程院创新大奖(Clunies Ross Innovation Award),同年获得澳大利亚机械工程领域最高奖米歇尔奖章(AGM Michell Medal)。2016年,谢亿民院士获得皇家墨尔本理工大学杰出教授称号,并担任创新结构与材料研究中心主任。                                                                                                                                                 2015年,谢亿民院士在国内创立了谢亿民科技和谢亿民设计,带领他的杰出团队致力于将其首创的渐进结构优化法以及结构设计领域多年的研究成果运用于工程实践,为客户提供新颖、高效且经济合理的结构方案,并利用3D打印等先进制造手段将结构方案付诸实施。

Brief Bio of Yi Min (Mike) XIE

Professor Yi Min (Mike) XIE was born in China and earned his PhD degree in the United Kingdom. He was the Head of Civil Engineering discipline at RMIT University between 2002 and 2012. In 2019 Professor Xie was awarded a Member of the order of Australia for his “significant service to higher education and to civil engineering”. In the same year, he was awarded the highly prestigious Australian Research Council Laureate Fellowship.

Professor Xie was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) in 2011. He won the 2017 Clunies Ross Innovation Award from ATSE for his outstanding research impact. He also received the 2017 AGM Michell Medal from the Institution of Engineers Australia for his “long standing eminence in mechanical engineering”. He was awarded the “RMIT Distinguished Professor” title in 2016 and is currently the Director of RMIT Centre for Innovative Structures and Materials.

In 2015, he established XIE Technologies and XIE Archi-Structure Design, leading an outstanding team to apply his evolutionary structural optimization (ESO) technique and other research outcomes achieved over many years to engineering practice, providing innovative, efficient and economical structural designs to customers and realizing these designs using 3D printing and other advanced manufacturing techniques.
